Have you heard? Wind and Solar are the new messiah. The answers to our prayers NOT. For some crazy reason they started to shut down coal plants nation wide. Wind, Solar were the ticket. Looks like they learned nothing from last year. California said they had to rely on fossil fuels cause wind and solar just wasn't doing it. California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) warned during a similar power shortage in 2020, consumers need to “sober up” about the limits of wind and solar energy to power their electric grid.
And what about Texas? The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has warned power consumers in Texas to conserve energy on Monday afternoon and evening because there will not be enough wind power to operate the power grid reliably in peak demand. Current projections show wind generation coming in less than 10 percent of its capacity.
