Minimum wage went to $20.76 on January 1st. Corina Luckenbach, who ran the Bebop Waffle Shop but was forced to shutter the business permanently because of the new measure.

Corina was and still is supportive of the hike. She just can't pay that wage and stay open. $20.00 an hour sounds good until you have to pay it.

Luckenbach likewise made clear to local media that she believes employees should be paid more, but said she could not afford that increased level of pay.
