Elon Musk’s X Wins Appeal Against California’s Social Media Content Moderation Law.

Elon Musk’s X Wins Appeal Against California’s Social Media Content Moderation Law. Does my heart good when you see a state get bitch slapped whenthey censor one social media venue but not the others.

In this case, Elon Musk, who acquired Twitter last year and recently rebranded it as X, had filed a lawsuit to prevent the law from taking effect, arguing that it infringed upon the First Amendment’s speech protections. The case is one among several legal challenges that have emerged as states attempt to exert greater control over social media giants.

Other venues went along because they mostly go after Conservative comments and California has no issues with that. Below is what the court said.

9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco has partially blocked a California law that mandates social media companies to disclose their policies for addressing disinformation, harassment, hate speech, and extremism.

The decision is a significant win for X and other social media platforms that have been grappling with increasing pressure from state governments to regulate their content moderation practices. It also highlights the complex legal landscape surrounding the First Amendment and its application to the digital realm.
