Mayor Andre Dickens of Atlanta took a stand against the establishment media and political figures who have falsely characterized the anti-police riots that devastated his city overnight as not violent, instead he defined it as the more accurate “domestic terrorism.”
Mayor Dickens appeared on “Face The Nation” Sunday with CBS’ Margaret Brennan. In a panel assembled to discuss crime and violence afflicting American cities, Brennan asked Dickens to update her audience on the “protests” that followed the death of Manuel Esteban Paez Teran, who had reportedly shot a Georgia Patrol Trooper.
Dickens pushed back on the characterization of the events as protests explaining that they devolved into violence. He noted the so-called ‘protestors,’ “had explosives,” “burned down a police car,” and “broke windows at businesses,”
